Once you graduate, Chicago's Alumni Association (www.alumni.uchicago.edu) will keep you connected with the University in a lifelong, interactive relationship, giving you access to all the privileges of membership in a great intellectual community. It's free for life and includes such benefits as an online directory and careers network, educational and social events on campus and around the world, and a variety of group benefits such as insurance, student loan consolidation, travel discounts, and an affinity credit card that supports student aid.
• University of Chicago Magazine: You'll receive the alumni magazine (magazine.uchicago.edu), which includes notes on your classmates, stories on faculty and alumni, goings-on at the University, and current affairs.
• E-mail forwarding: One thing you won't lose after you graduate is the "uchicago.edu" in your e-mail address. Click on www.alumni.uchicago.edu and register for lifetime e-mail forwarding, and your friends will always be able to reach you at yourCNetID@uchicago.edu.
• Career services: Many resources of Chicago's Career Advising and Planning Services (CAPS) are also available to alumni. Visit caps.uchicago.edu/alumni/ for more information. Visit the Alumni Careers Network at alumniservices.uchicago.edu/careers/ to make contact with more than 15,000 alumni who can share their expertise in a variety of fields.
• Discounts: Take advantage of alumni discounts on air travel, car rental, moving and storage, and hotels.
• Alumni Insurance Program: Attractively priced medical, life, car, and home insurance products are available for alumni and their spouses, parents, and children.
• Library privileges: The stacks are open to alumni free of charge; fees for quarterly borrowing privileges are on a graduated scale. To keep on using the Reg, you'll need to obtain an alumni ID card and present it in the Library Identification and Privileges Office.
